Urgent Call for Action

Maharishi has called on the Transcendental Meditation Organisation all around the world to urgently respond to the current world crisis and create more coherence and positivity in world consciousness.

Following the tragic events in the USA in September 2001, Maharishi warned that a violent response from the USA and its allies would result in a violent response from its adversaries. This would lead to a "chain of destruction" that would be disastrous for both sides. Military force can never be the means to create peace in the world, and this has been shown over and over again throughout history.

The only proven solution, backed up by repeated scientific research, is the application of Maharishi's Vedic Technologies of Peace. In spite of the wealth of evidence that exists, we as the knowers of reality, are the only ones who are awake enough to realise the solution - create coherence! So the responsibility falls to us to act immediately to protect Great Britain and the world and help mankind through this delicate time.

What we can do:

Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying practised in as large a group as possible is the top priority

• Create National Coherence! All those who practise the TM-Sidhi programme are invited to come to the Maharishi Golden Dome in Skelmersdale. Let's fill the Dome with 800 and create coherence for the nation. Call the M.E.S. Course Office on 01695 729113.

Join the National Coherence Days at your TM Centre, or nearest TM Academy. They will be every Sunday until further notice. Call your local TM Centre.

• Create Global Coherence! 40,000 Yogic Flying Vedic Pandits in India will radiate coherence and peace throughout the world. We urgently need to increase Britain's financial support for these Groups. If those of us already donating doubled our regular contribution, and we inspired two friends to join us, we'd reach our initial target of supporting1,331 Pandits (at £32 per month). So far we are supporting over 1000*. We also want to increase our cash contribution for building the campuses from our current level of £950,000* to our target of £4 million. • Create Coherence in London! We need to maximise coherence in collective consciousness in and around London, to ensure the government makes intelligent decisions. There will be special large Coherence Days in central London and extra group TM-Sidhi programme is planned - please check with your local TM Centre.

• Create Local Coherence! Attend group TM-Sidhi programme as often as possible in your local TM Centre or Academy, ideally every day. If it's too far to travel then start a local group. If you are doing light activity then there is a special extra programme option available for everyone, including Meditators. Please refer to your nearest Centre Chairman.

• Create Individual Coherence! Maharishi has emphasised that we practise our Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme very fully and completely, and ensure we get enough rest. Also, please try and co-ordinate with the daily national coherence times.

Other important points: We also need many new Meditators, Sidhas, and TM Teachers. This is a good time to bring friends and family and others to learn Transcendental Meditation. Many people feel powerless in this situation - and are looking for something positive they can do about it. Meditators may also like to learn the TM-Sidhi programme and Yogic Flying - to increase the level of coherence they generate.

Watch the Maharishi Channel. The daily broadcasts of the Parliament of World Peace (from 9-10am) and Dr. Bevan Morris's news reviews (from 10-10.30am) provide an essential understanding of Maharishi's latest thinking, and the world situation. Also, do sign up for one of the beautiful new courses of Maharishi Open University, which give profound Vedic Knowledge to directly enliven the experience of Unity Consciousness.

We can also alert the Media, MPs and others in society. We have the only solution to the problems of terrorism and conflict - "Tat sannidhau vairatyagah" - "in the vicinity of yoga or unity, hostility ceases". The public and the leaders of the nation have to realise that the destructive means of defence can never succeed, and that the real enemy is incoherence in collective consciousness. The 42 scientific studies on the Maharishi Effect show incontrovertibly that our approach really works to significantly reduce conflict and violence. No one else has a solution.

Consciousness is rising rapidly in the world, and Maharishi's Global Country of World Peace IS the future, but in order to move from the current state of civilization to that beautiful Vedic civilization, which is nearly within our grasp, the world needs to experience a significant transformation or phase transition. This phase transition can be either rough or smooth - it is up to us. We have the vedic technology to stabilise and harmonise the changes which are inevitably and irreversibly taking place. With united action and determination, together we can avert the extremely serious danger facing us, and create lasting peace in the world. But we have to act now!
