Main stories in the February issue:

Maharishi inaugurates The Year of the Capital of Global Raam Raj

On 12 January, Maharishi inaugurated the programme for the coming year, The Year of the Capital of Global Raam Raj.

At the end of last year, on 31 December, Maharishi had announced that the leaders of his organisation in India will be establishing, at the Brahmasthan of India – the centre-point of India – a functioning Capital of Global Raam Raj with all required facilities for 16,000 Yogic Flying Vedic Pandits. He resolved to accomplish this by the next Guru Purnima celebration, which will be on 29 July this year.

The Capital of Global Raam Raj in India will create an indomitable influence of peace for each country in the world, daily, thus taking care of the whole world’s population. Maharishi said it would be "a real, real state of administration of Natural Law in the world".

During the celebration on 12 January reports were made by videoconference from the Brahmasthan of India where the planned developments had begun, the Brahmasthan of America in Kansas where the construction of Central University was being inaugurated (also to be completed by Guru Purnima for 10,000 students), and from New York where the Global Financial Capital of the Global Country of World Peace was celebrating its opening. These activities complement those in many countries around the world to create Raam Raj, a world without suffering, through the influence of Yogic Flying Vedic Pandits Invincibility Assemblies, and Maharishi Schools, to create coherence and positivity in world consciousness.

Raja Peter Warburton, PhD, also presented a fascinating introduction to the 12 faculties of Maharishi Vedic University and showed, in just a few sentences, how the complete range of knowledge offered by each faculty is founded in the field of Total Knowledge, which is the Veda; and that the Veda is embodied in its first syllable, "A".

Vedic Pandits: Maharishi’s Christmas gift to the world – and Scotland

In the week leading up to Christmas, Maharishi announced a programme to bring Vedic Pandits from India to 12 countries in sufficient numbers to create instant Invincibility for each of these countries, and through them to all nations.

A grain of sugar is enough for an ant, Maharishi said, but not enough for an elephant: we are tired of going slowly – instant Invincibility is what we should create now.

Scotland to become Invincible; TM Movement re-opens

Raja Peter Warburton has announced a new programme to increase coherence and positivity in British national consciousness. This will bring an end to Britain being a "destroyer" nation in the world and the Transcendental Meditation Movement being closed in the country. Raja Peter is initiating the programme in Scotland, a more peace-loving region of Great Britain.

The first step to create, designed to create instant Invincibility in Scotland, is to bring 200 Vedic Pandits from India to be based in or near Edinburgh or Glasgow where their influence will be greatest.

The TM Movement is also now fully re-opened in Scotland. Teaching of Transcendental Meditation has resumed and there will soon be Weekend Residence Courses, Coherence Days, and all of Maharishi's other programmes, to which people from all over Britain will be invited. Renewed emphasis is also being placed on the knowledge of perfect Vastu – Maharishi Sthapatya Veda – so that everyone can soon be living in a Fortune-Creating Home®.

Maharishi is very happy about the initiative to bring 200 Vedic Pandits to Scotland immediately. He said: "200 Pandits in Scotland will be a great lamp of coherence for the whole island." He also said how very enjoyable it was to gradually come back to Britain.

Flag of Invincibility raised in Scotland and 192 countries

As a highlight of Maharishi’s three-day celebration of the birthday of Guru Dev from 29 to 31 December, the flag of the Global Country of World Peace – the Flag of Raam Raj – was raised in the 192 sovereign countries of the world, including Scotland for Great Britain.

Maharishi said: "The New Year is coming to offer to every nation Invincibility. This is the fruit of Guru Dev's blessings. … We will be hoisting the Flag of Invincibility to mark the most blessed time for all mankind – peace, harmony, prosperity, invincibility, perfect health, affluence, all good fortune to every nation in the world."

As he raised the flag in Scotland, prospective Raja of Scotland, Governor David Rae, declared in the ancient Gaelic language of Scotland: "Ceud mille failte (one hundred thousand welcomes) to the return of Maharishi's programmes and the incalculable benefit of Invincibility brought by the revered Pandits who are coming quickly from India. As Maharishi said, to be founders of Invincibility will be a most enjoyable honour."

In the nearness of Pure Consciousness negativity and conflict dissolve

In his regular column, Dr Geoffrey Clements explains a powerful principle in the mechanics of creating peace and coherence.

Maharishi indicated that the groups of Vedic Pandits should be as close as possible to the centres of population. The reason for this is found in the expression from the section of the Vedic literature called the Yoga Sutras: "Tat sannidhau vairatyaga" – In the nearness of Yoga, conflicting tendencies dissolve. "Yoga" means the field of unity, the field of Pure Consciousness, the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature.

Analysing this principle, Dr Clements elaborates a number of profound meanings.

As predicted, 1,800 TM experts transform America

Dr John Hagelin, President of the US Peace Government, announces the dramatic results from the first five months of the Invincible America Assembly at Maharishi University of Management and Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa – the largest scientific demonstration project ever to monitor the effects of a large group of Yogic Flyers on national economic and social trends.

Dr Hagelin said that in recent days the number of Yogic Flyers in the Assembly increased to 1,800 – just over the square root of one per cent of the US population – and as a result, there will be even more dramatic improvement in national trends, and any lingering problems in the country will be quickly resolved.

"This is not wishful thinking," said Dr Hagelin, "This is hard science that has been field tested for over 50 years."

In the Press

On the very day the USA achieved its Super Radiance figure (the number of Yogic Flyers that has an observable effect on the entire country), the leading news agency Associated Press syndicated an article entitled: "Organizers Say Meditation Brings Peace".

This was published by many major newspapers around the world, as well as a plethora of regional newspapers in the USA.

The article is abridged in this issue.

Extracts of other articles are also featured from the Boston Globe, New York Times, and The Courier-Journal, which report on different lively and challenging interviews with singer Donovan and with film maker David Lynch who are touring USA performing and promoting Transcendental Meditation and its value in education.

Also in this issue

Other articles in this issue include: a heart-warming and inspiring story of one person’s experience of the Golden Domes in Fairfield, Iowa, over twenty years; an account of how a Hollywood film director discovered the Maharishi Effect and is making a documentary about it; and details of courses soon to be available in Scotland for all British Governors, Sidhas, and Meditators.
