GLOBAL COUNTRY OF WORLD PEACE TO ESTABLISH GLOBAL FINANCIAL CAPITAL NEAR NEW YORK TO ELIMINATE WORLD POVERTY

We are delighted to present a summary of the illustrated report presented on the Maharishi Channel by Dr Peter Warburton, Raja of England, documenting the unprecedented developments that have unfolded in the United States in recent weeks.

Raja Peter describes the Campaign to Create an Invincible America, an initiative which involved the Rajas and Ministers of the Global Country of World Peace. Launched with the purchase of over 1100 acres of land at the central point – the Brahmasthan – of the United States, the campaign has seen the acquisition of land near Washington, DC, and in Princeton for Maharishi Universities of World Peace, and in New York State for the establishment of a new fortune-creating Global Financial Capital.

Maharishi said that the poor financial decisions being made in New York, and the dullness in the world economy, are the result of incorrect Vastu (design and orientation of the buildings) and that the Global Country of World Peace will design a fortune-creating world centre of economy, an ideal centre of brilliance where fast and correct decisions will be taken.

NATIONS ARE RISING TO INVINCIBILITY

A summary of Maharishi’s discussions during his global press conferences of recent weeks in which he has drawn the attention of the world media to the rise of integrated national consciousness of those nations where his programmes to create coherence are being most intensively implemented. Holland in particular, he told the press, is beginning to demonstrate a transition from problems to solutions, from the darkness of night to the dawn of the day. "Holland is no more the Holland of yesterday," he said. "It’s going to soon burst out into the day – into the midday sun." Holland now has a coherence-creating group of Yogic Flyers of sufficient size to produce this change in national consciousness. We present highlights of the remarkably changes that have ensued in national life in Holland.

Maharishi expressed his delight at these developments. "Transcendental Consciousness, the field of infinite dimension, infinite potential – even those who will not do anything for it, even they will be captured by the unavoidable cosmic influence of it, " he said.

NEWS FROM THE USA

Charles Cunningham summarises the latest news from the USA, including a fascinating presentation at the national Science in Consciousness conference in Tucson, Arizona, by Dr Fred Travis, faculty researcher at Maharishi University of Management. Dr Travis presented a paper comparing Tibetan Buddhist meditation, mindfulness meditation, and Transcendental Meditation, in a study using neural imaging and EEG data.

Further attention was given to Maharishi’s programmes for health by the American College of Cardiologists, whose symposium on natural medicine this year chose to highlight Maharishi’s Vedic Approach to Health. Of the five presentations on natural medicine at the symposium, four were on research carried out at Maharishi University of Management or at collaborating institutions.

Finally, over 1200 school principals, superintendents, teachers, and school board members have attended presentations on Maharishi’s Consciousness-Based Education around the USA in recent weeks during a tour by Maharishi University of Management faculty member Dr John Hagelin, Maharishi School director Ashley Deans, and other educators and scientists. The tour also generated much positive publicity, and schools around the US are flocking to sign up for courses in Transcendental Meditation.

AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION PUBLICISES NEW STUDY ON TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION AND CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

The American Medical Association (AMA) has for the first time published a study on the beneficial effects of Transcendental Meditation in preventing and treating heart disease. A two-page press release was sent to thousands of health and science writers throughout the world by the Association’s journal Archives of Internal Medicine announcing the study which they had published in June.

Conducted a the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the 16-week trial found that 52 patients with coronary heart disease who learned Transcendental Meditation had significantly lower blood pressure, reduced insulin resistance, and more stable functioning of the autonomic nervous system compared to controls.

FIRST FORTUNE-CREATING HOME IN BELFAST RECEIVES WIDESPREAD PUBLICITY

"Holywood couple Andrea and Gerry Gribben took their interest in alternative therapies further than most. They demolished their 900-sq-ft bungalow to build a 2150-sq-ft one and a half storey timber frame house according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. The first of its kind in Northern Ireland, the house is based on Vedic Science, which is all about building in accord with Natural Law."

Vedic methods of agriculture are at the centre of Maharishi’s plans for providing truly nourishing and healthy food to the whole world, at the same time as eliminating global poverty. In his regular column, Dr Geoffrey Clements this month turns his attention to the way in which Maharishi’s knowledge provides the fulfilment to the aim of inter-disciplinary studies, and the way in which the recent sessions of the Parliaments of World Peace exemplify this.

"Maharishi’s emphasis has always been to make knowledge of full practical significance in life," he says. "He has engaged the principle that ‘knowledge has organising power’ to illustrate that Pure Knowledge has infinite organising power. The older principle of ‘all knowledge in one campus’ has been replaced by the new principle ‘all knowledge in one brain’."
