Main stories in the May issue:

"Your brain needs this…"" These were the words used on the website www.lynchweekend.org to announce an introductory weekend at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. Held on 24-26 March the event, entitled Explore the Frontiers of Consciousness, Creativity and the Brain, was designed to share the knowledge of Transcendental Meditation, Consciousness-Based Education, and Maharishi’s world peace programme with students and professors from throughout the USA.

The weekend was hosted by three well-known proponents of TM – filmmaker David Lynch, quantum physicist Dr John Hagelin, and singer Donovan Leitch – whose fame and accomplishments in their respective fields helped to attract 1,000 students and educators to the event, along with TV film crews from Germany, Brazil, and France.

This article summarises a number of exciting recent developments, including:

• Global Financial Capital, built according to Vastu, planned for New York. Thousands of acres of land have been found near to New York City where the Global Country of World Peace will build a Global Financial Capital, which will be the base from which the leadership of the major corporations and financial institutions in New York can create a new, balanced, and life-supporting world economy.
• World Capital of Peace inaugurated at the Brahmasthan of America. On 28 March, Maharishi inaugurated a World Capital of Peace in Smith Centre, Kansas, the geographical centre – the Brahmasthan – of the United States.
• Four Hundred Yogic Flyers form invincibility group in The Netherlands. Dr Willem Meijles, Raja of Holland, has assembled a permanent group of 400 Yogic Flyers, a sufficient number to create peace and invincibility for the country.
• Global inauguration of university site near Washington DC. On 19 April, a global celebration took place in Arlington, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington DC. Two hundred acres are being purchased in Arlington for the construction of a Maharishi University of World Peace for 2,000 students.

Tying in with the global reports detailed above, we also carry a report of the extraordinary invention of Japanese scientist, Dr Tanaka, who has developed a revolutionary "Super Intelligent Catalyst" for purifying car emissions. Dr Tanaka was inspired to make his discovery by the structure of nature described in Maharishi’s Vedic Science.

Dr Geoffrey Clements, Chairman of Maharishi Foundation, provides a detailed report on the inauguration of the central point, the Brahmasthan, of Suffolk’s new fortune-creating Vastu village at a celebration on Akshaya Tritiya day which was attended by people from around Britain.

This month’s summary of the twelve Parliaments of World Peace that took place at the Brahmasthan of India in January focuses on the subject of science and technology, with inspiring summaries of talks by Maharishi and by Dr Peter Warburton, Raja of England.

In this fascinating article, Jacqueline Phillips shares with us her personal account of how the integration produced by Maharishi’s programmes played a major role in helping her to gain her doctorate degree and provided a practical insight into the subject of her thesis: the harmonisation of analytic and synthetic thought.
