The latest issue of TM News is now available, and it is a pleasure to send you a summary of the contents. The cover date of this issue is May 2005 – it is a little late because of major changes for the British Movement, but the management of the magazine hopes to restore the correct publication date over the next two months.

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi announced in the middle of May that his Global Country of World Peace will adopt three or four nations and raise each country to invincibility through the science and technology of Total Natural Law. For this, Maharishi said, large groups of Yogic Flyers will quickly be established in each adopted country to create coherent collective consciousness – the basis of invincibility for the nation.

Maharishi withdraws Transcendental Meditation Movement from Britain

Maharishi has also announced that he has withdrawn his Transcendental Meditation Movement from Britain following the recent re-election of Prime Minister Tony Blair. "When we are fulfilling our parental role in the family of nations by adopting a few countries and making them invincible, we are also rejecting one nation – Britain – which has proven to be a poisonous, divisive influence in the world family," Maharishi said. "The good effects of Transcendental Meditation – increased creativity and long life – should not be given to a dangerous country that is constantly busy destroying the world. Transcendental Meditation is a gift from me to those who want to create peace and harmony in the world."

Britain’s Transcendental Meditation teachers have been warmly invited by Maharishi to teach in other countries, including the USA.

At a news conference in Dublin on 13 May, His Highness The Raja of England, Dr Peter Warburton, announced the purchase by the Global Country of World Peace of the 30-acre Inishraher Island, off the coast of County Mayo. Great interest was generated in the Irish media by the event; the island will become home to a Maharishi Peace Palace, and will serve as a Maharishi Capital of the Global Country of World Peace.

In recent months, Maharishi has given many fascinating descriptions of the total utilisation of Natural Law available for the individual, and through them for nations and the world, embodied in his programme for training Rajas. We summarise some of the main points of this training, of which, says Maharishi, "in any country, if the administrator has that level of intelligence, then the whole country will be governed by the Constitution of the Universe. The Constitution of the Universe will have one speciality, and that speciality will be that any activity will be in the evolutionary direction automatically…"

Huge worldwide media interest has resulted from a study published in the 2 May issue of the American Journal of Cardiology, reporting that Transcendental Meditation reduces death rate by 23% and extends lifespan.

In Maharishi’s global press conference of 28 April, Dr John Hagelin summarised recent signs of rising positivity in global events, reflecting the success of Maharishi’s programmes to create coherent collective consciousness in India and around the world. We summarise the highlights of these improvement in world events.
