Engage Vedic Pandits to create invincibility for the nation through Vedic performances

Maharishi issued a stern wake-up call to the Indian government at the end of March to stop spending the hard-earned money of India’s poor people to purchase weapons from wealthy arms-producing nations in a vain hope that such weapons will bring safety to the nation. "It is illogical. Weapons will only bring flames and death to India. They will not save the nation," Maharishi warned.

Instead, Maharishi urged India’s leaders to use Indian money to engage large numbers of peace-creating experts – Vedic Pandits – throughout the country to promote coherent national consciousness, which is the basis of invincibility for the country.

On 23 March, Maharishi invited the world press to watch for signs of the success of his programme to create a problem-free India. "When the Indian government becomes a harmonious Vedic government – when it becomes a beautiful mosaic of differences, free from problems and conflict – then the world press will tell me, ‘Yes, what you have promised has been realised in one country, India,’" Maharishi said.

He added that the influence of India’s coherent consciousness will spread throughout the world, and the whole population will breathe life in ease and comfort – just as a lamp that is lit spreads light throughout a hall.

Signs of the beginning of this global transformation will be seen within months, Maharishi told the world press.

A standing-room-only, overflow crowd of more than 1,000 conference participants cheered and leapt to their feet for three standing ovations during Dr John Hagelin’s presentation at the prestigious ‘Prophets Conference’ in Santa Monica, California, in February.

Dr Hagelin electrified the crowd with his talk ‘Creating Peace: The Discovery of the Unified Field and Its Practical Application to Prevent Crime, Terrorism and International Conflict.’ After his presentation he was mobbed by the audience, and his book, Manual for a Perfect Government, sold out in minutes. Participants praised the talk not only for its profound exploration of the nature of reality but also because it offered hope for the future by providing practical, field-tested solutions to society’s problems.

Students at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, will have the opportunity to chart the development of the full potential of their brains via a new "brain integration report card" that will include the results of EEG measurements of their brain waves, scores on standardized assessments of psychological growth, and evaluation of their subjective reports of inner experience.

A special four-month Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course for TM-Sidhas began at the end of April, and will continue until 24 August. Further such four-month courses for TM-Sidhas will also be offered in the near future. Graduates of the course will work full-time to offer all of the services and programmes of Maharishi’s Movement, and will help to establish a Peace Palace in their designated city. Prior to the establishment of the Peace Palaces, suitable premises will be rented where the programmes can be offered immediately.
