In a global celebration on 12 January, Maharishi inaugurated the New Year by launching a global programme to establish Maharishi Vedic Universities, Colleges and Schools in 3,000 cities throughout the world. Maharishi said the new Vedic educational institutions will offer the knowledge and practical programmes to actualise the Constitution of the Universe – the Unified Field – in the daily life of every individual and every nation to create permanent world peace.

The celebrations marked the beginning of the Golden Jubilee Year of Maharishi’s worldwide Movement.

We are delighted to include in this issue a detailed summary of Maharishi’s comments and discussions with the world media on his plans for 2005, taken from a letter sent to all UK contributors to the World Peace Fund, which supports the training and maintenance of large groups of Vedic Pandits in India under Maharishi’s guidance.

RAJA DR PETER WARBURTON PRESENTS HIS PLANS FOR 2005

Of particular interest for British viewers of the 12 January celebrations was the presentation by The Raja of England, Dr Peter Warburton.

"Our principal objective this year," he announced, "is to make available personal enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation, through the Vedic programmes by which the Constitution of the Universe, total Natural Law, will be fully lively in the life of every individual and nation – the only ground for permanent peace in the whole family of nations."

Raja Peter detailed some of his plans for the year, including the establishment of at least one Peace Palace for men and one for ladies in each city of more than 100,000 population. Before such facilities are completed, he said, temporary facilities will be rented where the Peace Palace programmes can be offered without delay
