Subject: Capital of the Global Country of World Peace established in New York City

(June 15, 2004) The Capital of the Global Country of World Peace has been established in the financial district of New York City and will soon offer government leaders the complete science and technology of total Natural Law—the science and technology of peace—to open the gate of good fortune for all nations and a bright future of affluence and peace for all mankind.

This was the proclamation of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi during his recent global news conference on June 9, which was broadcast live via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Maharishi will answer questions about the new Capital of the Global Country of World Peace during his next global news conferences on June 16 and 17.

The inauguration of the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace is scheduled for Friday, July 2.

"Politics have been swallowed up by economics—creating fear and division in the family of nations," Maharishi said. "The functioning Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in New York City—the economic capital of the world—will purify the field of politics and bring affluence to every government and satisfaction to all the people."

The Capital of the Global Country of World Peace is located at 70 Broad Street, one block from the New York Stock Exchange. The 96-year-old building is a national historic landmark that once housed the American Bank Note Company—the firm that engraved U.S. paper currency and produced security documents, such as stock certificates, checks, and stamps. The historic building was purchased using the Raam—the gold-backed development currency of the Global Country of World Peace.

The Global Country of World Peace was founded by Maharishi on October 7, 2000, to promote prevention-oriented, problem-free administration in every nation through the total knowledge of Natural Law. In contrast to today’s governments, Maharishi said, which administer society from the surface level of action alone, the Global Country of World Peace promotes ideal administration from the underlying field of silence—the Unified Field of Natural Law—that upholds the entire universe. "The ideal system of administration is the administration of Natural Law, which eternally promotes the orderly evolution of everyone and everything, from point to infinity, in the ever-expanding universe," Maharishi said.

Maharishi said the Unified Field is open to every individual in the transcendental field of his own inner Self. "Now, through the wisdom of the tradition of Vedic masters, every individual can command the enormous energy and intelligence that administers the universe—command the force of gravity—through a gentle impulse of thought within his own simple awareness," Maharishi said. Maharishi added that command over gravity is demonstrated through Yogic Flying, when the body lifts up through the power of a simple, natural, effortless thought from the level of the Unified Field.

In response to a question about how his knowledge can be applied to create peace in a turbulent world, Maharishi said that His Majesty Raja Raam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, is now establishing throughout the world several groups of 8,000 peace-creating experts whose practice of Yogic Flying will enliven the Unified Field in world consciousness to neutralise negativity and disharmony and promote peace and harmony in the family of nations. His Majesty Raja Raam is also offering to every government the complete science and technology of total Natural Law to prevent problems and promote perfection in education, health care, administration, the economy, defence, agriculture, and architecture and community planning.

Dr. John Hagelin, President of the US Peace Government and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace, announced that daily Global Parliaments of Peace will be held at the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace to present the peace-creating knowledge of total Natural Law to heads of state and their cabinet ministers, UN ambassadors, and other top decision-makers. The leaders will be able to attend the Global Parliament of Peace in person or participate via videoconference from anywhere in the world.

Maharishi concluded by citing the proverb, "Knock and the door will open," which, Maharishi said, simply means to practice Transcendental Meditation. "Open your awareness to the source of all thought within your Self. And then from that level, everything can be achieved instantly through the support of the supreme intelligence and power that administers the universe with perfect order," Maharishi said.
