It is a pleasure to inform you that there have recently been significant new developments in the implementation of Maharishi’s programme to create world peace.

On 12 January, Maharishi proclaimed 2004 to be his "Year of Peace Palaces of the Global Country of World Peace" - a year when Maharishi’s global organisation will focus on constructing Peace Palaces in every country, and specially trained Vedic scholars from India will come to reside in these Peace Palaces and utilise Maharishi’s Vedic technologies of consciousness to create peace, progress and affluence in the local community, the nation, and the world.

More recently, during his global weekly press conference on 4 February, Maharishi announced that Vedic scholars are now beginning to gather in Madhya Pradesh at the Brahmastan (central point) of India, where they will perform these Vedic technologies as a group, in order to create an increasing influence of peace for the whole world.

Maharishi’s two-month training programme for Administrators of the Global Country of World Peace, which he had first announced on 24 December, has also now started at Maharishi’s headquarters in Meru, Holland. Several participants have already joined the programme, and others are joining as their funds become available This unique programme is designed to train Administrators who will spontaneously utilise the power of Natural Law to promote prevention-oriented, problem-free administration in every nation (see: www.GlobalCountry.org for more details of the programme).

In this context, we are pleased to announce that our nationwide fundraising campaign in the UK for Maharishi’s World Peace Fund has made excellent progress over the past year, with over $725,000 raised so far. This is thanks to the generous donations of about 600 Meditators, Sidhas and Governors. Further contributions of over $24,000 are also coming in every month as a result of about 250 Standing Order payments and additional cheque and credit card payments. On the basis of these donations to support the Vedic Pandits in India, we are also able to send delegates as our representatives to Maharishi’s new Administrators Training Conference.

At the beginning of January, an immediate target of $1 million was announced so that we could make a significant further contribution to Maharishi’s World Peace Project, and at the same time send Peter and Deirdre Warburton as our representatives to Maharishi’s present Administrators Conference (we are able to send one representative for each $500,000 contributed).

We are now delighted to inform you that a wealthy supporter of Maharishi’s World Peace programme has just advanced $275,000 towards our national collection for the World Peace Fund, in order to bring the total to $1 million. This makes it possible for Peter and Deirdre to attend Maharishi’s Administrators Conference as our representatives straight away. This advance was made on the strength of the monthly Standing Orders and regular payments that so many people are contributing. It is with very great pleasure that we are able to inform you that Peter and Deirdre, who have been working for many years for Maharishi’s global organisation, have now joined the Administrators Conference in MERU, Holland.

Our donations are of immense value to support all Maharishi’s initiatives now underway in India to train large numbers of experts in Maharishi’s Vedic Science and Technology. His Excellency Dr Girish Varma, Minister of Higher Education for the Global Country of World Peace, reported in a global broadcast on 10 January that Maharishi’s organisation in India has now set up 5,000 Vedic schools in towns and villages throughout India. At these schools, there are currently 200,000 students receiving training in all 40 aspects of Maharishi’s Vedic Science.

Dr Varma said that several thousand of these students have already reached a level of training where they are able to perform Maharishi Yagyas, Graha Shanti and Vastu Shanti. Together with their twice-daily group practice of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying, this will begin to create an influence of peace, happiness, and affluence for the individual and society throughout the world.

Announcing the plan to send groups of these qualified Vedic Pandits to the 3,000 Peace Palaces in the major cities of the world, Maharishi said on 12 January: "The thrust of this New Year is to build Peace Palaces, establish groups of Vedic scholars, and create such a high intensity of coherence that negative trends will never arise in society."

The widespread implementation of Maharishi’s training programme for these Vedic experts is a direct result of the substantial contributions that have been made by so many people to the World Peace Fund in recent years. We would like to warmly thank everyone from this country for their very generous donations. Not only are these contributions helping to create world peace, but they will also bring peace and relief from problems in our own lives and to our country. As Maharishi says, this is not charity but an investment in our own future, and it will help to neutralise some of the negative effects of Britain’s past actions in the world. At the same time, the delegates we are able to send to Maharishi’s Administrators’ conferences will be trained in the guiding principles to create problem-free administration in society - Heaven on Earth.

From our collective contributions in this country, we have previously donated $1,206,000 towards the Vedic Pandits training programme in India, and this, together with our latest contribution of $1,000,000, makes a total of $2,206,000 so far. In addition, a further $5 million has been donated by British participants in Maharishi’s Enlightenment Conferences.

Maharishi’s project to train and support large groups of Vedic Pandits in India needs more funds and we would like to raise many more millions from this country. We would also like to be able to send many more delegates to Maharishi’s Administrators’ Training Conferences. We warmly welcome all future contributions.
