On 12 January, Maharishi proclaimed 2004 to be his "Year of Peace Palaces" and announced that Peace Palaces will be established in the 3,000 major cities of the world.

"We choose to fondly call them Peace Palaces – a place where peace will reside in its fully awakened state, in order that no one anymore lives in any kind of problem or suffering." - Maharishi

Transcendental Meditation News brings you the highlights of Maharishi’s message to the world during his 12 January address and his recent weekly press conferences, broadcast around the globe via satellite and Internet on the Maharishi Channel.

During his press conference of 14 January, Maharishi announced that specially trained Vedic scholars will reside in the Peace Palaces and utilise Vedic performances, including Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying, to enliven total Natural Law and create coherent world consciousness.

Maharishi also announced that a special course for Administrators of the Global Country of World Peace is now under way. The Administrators, or Rajas, are being trained to spontaneously utilise the power of total Natural Law – which manages the universe with perfect order – to promote prevention-oriented, problem-free administration in every nation.

TM News also brings you a roundup of the significant new developments in the implementation of Maharishi’s initiatives to create world peace. These include the progress of projects in India to establish large groups of Vedic Pandits performing Maharishi’s Vedic technologies of consciousness to create an influence of peace, happiness, and affluence for the individual and society throughout the world. It also includes a progress report on the fundraising campaign in Great Britain to support Maharishi’s World Peace Programme.

The flagship building of the Transcendental Meditation organisation in New Zealand has been much appreciated since it was officially opened at the beginning of last year. Known as the Maharishi Spiritual Centre of New Zealand, the 350 square metre building is the first of several to be constructed on land a few kilometres inland from the coast near Orewa, North of Auckland.

Expansion plans for the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Skelmersdale are now underway with the launch of a new website: www.MaharishiAyurveda.co.uk

During January of this year, Pramod Athaley, Vice-President of Maharishi Ayurveda Products in India, visited the UK as a follow-up to the training course held in Delhi for a group from Britain in November of last year. His visit was part of the ongoing activities to make all aspects of Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health more widely available in the UK.

Pramod led two brief training courses, each lasting three days, which he called "Operation Market Winners". One course was held at the Maharishi European Sidhaland in Skelmersdale, and the other at the Transcendental Meditation Centre at Linhope Street in London.

www.Global-Good-News.com -- launched on 12 January -- is an official new website of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Movement that has been created to present good news of the rising Age of Enlightenment from around the world. The website is updated daily with reports that illustrate the rise of collective consciousness through the evolutionary influence of Maharishi's programmes.

In the most significant enrichment of the students' schedule for decades, Maharishi University of Management Founder, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, has suggested that students practice the Transcendental Meditation technique together for 10 minutes after each lecture or other instructional activity. Students have responded enthusiastically to this new development.

In another important development for Maharishi University of Management, the first students enrolled at the University’s branch in China have received their MBA degrees at a commencement ceremony in Beijing.
