SUBJECT: Maharishi’s "Year of Peace Palaces of the Global Country of World Peace" – press release for today’s press conference

(14 January 2004) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi inaugurated 2004 as his "Year of Peace Palaces of the Global Country of World Peace," and launched a plan to immediately construct Peace Palaces in every country and train expert administrators in the knowledge of total Natural Law to create a world of peace and affluence for all times to come.

"We have the knowledge of total Natural Law – which administers the universe with perfect order – and we have a short, direct path to awaken this total knowledge within the awareness of every individual," Maharishi declared. "With our success of the past 40 to 50 years, we begin this new year with a great momentum to perpetuate this knowledge and create a new world where no one has to face problems or suffering – now or in the future."

Maharishi delivered his inaugural address on 12 January during grand global celebrations held on all continents and broadcast live via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Maharishi will discuss his plans for the New Year and answer questions from the press during his next news conferences on 14 and 15 January.

Maharishi said that education is the key to ideal administration and a problem-free world. For that, Maharishi said, His Majesty Raja Raam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, along with his cabinet ministers, are establishing universities, colleges, and schools in Peace Palaces in every country to provide the whole population with the knowledge of total Natural Law in eight areas: education, health care, economics, political science, administration, defence, agriculture, and architecture and city planning. Such education, Maharishi said, will promote mistake-free life for every individual and prevention-oriented, problem-free administration for every nation. 

Maharishi explained that education has failed to create ideal administration in the past because it has been based only on knowing about Natural Law. But now, through the universities, colleges, and schools of the Global Country of World Peace, students will have the experience of being total Natural Law within their own inner Self – the basis for living perfection in life. "Knowing will be made complete through being," Maharishi said.

Maharishi said that the Peace Palaces will be constructed according to Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law, and will provide a proper home for the enlightened Administrators of the Global Country of World Peace. "The cosmic wakefulness of total Natural Law – the will of God – will be the guiding feature of every Peace Palace," Maharishi said.

Maharishi concluded by declaring the immediate task ahead – to construct Peace Palaces and train Administrators of the Global Country of World Peace – to be a joyful one. "Total Natural Law – the will of God – is the nature of life. It has been sung by leaders and followers of every religion – and demanded by all people – throughout time," Maharishi said. "That is why the world is fortunate to be under the guidance of His Majesty Raja Raam and his expert cabinet ministers, who are providing to every individual and every government the knowledge of total Natural Law to promote all good for all mankind for all ages to come," Maharishi said.
