SUBJECT: Peace Governments to create true sovereignty; details of this week's press conferences

(17 September 2003) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi offered every head of state a practical formula to create ideal administration and a stable government: Enliven Cosmic law to promote prevention-oriented, problem-free administration and eliminate the constant turnover in government leadership that destroys national life.

"The ideal system of stable administration is available in Cosmic law, which governs the infinite diversity of the universe with perfect order. If this huge variety can be administered smoothly without obstacles on a permanent basis, why can’t our world – with a population of only six billion people – be administered in the same orderly style? Here is my invitation to every head of state: Don’t change your government. Continue to rule through Cosmic law."

Maharishi’s pronouncement came during his global news conference on Wednesday, 10 September which was broadcast live via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Maharishi’s next news conferences will be held on 17 and 18 September.

Maharishi cited the urgent need for an effective new approach to administration. "No system of administration – monarchy, democracy, dictatorship – is ideal because no system can prevent problems for the people," said Maharishi, who had strong words for the global chaos generated by democracy. "Our slogan is ‘damn democracy’ because there is no democracy in the world today. It is a bloody, destructive dictatorship in the name of democracy."

Maharishi also dismissed national sovereignty as fraudulent and inhuman. "Real sovereignty is royal and divine – it should not be a begging bowl," Maharishi said. "Is it sovereignty when you can make a president to do what you want by giving him money? No, it’s slavery. But as I have said many times, ‘You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you will never fool all of the people all of the time.’ Fortunately, the world is rising above these treacheries."

Maharishi explained that real sovereignty is impenetrable from outside negative influences – "just as darkness does not enter a lighted room." Maharishi cited the Meissner Effect of physics, which states that internally coherent systems repel external disruptive influences, while incoherent systems are easily penetrated by disorder from outside. "Real sovereignty is only available through Cosmic law – the will of God – which will not allow the birth of an enemy. Any nation will be sovereign when it is supported by the invincible, evolutionary power of Cosmic law."

Maharishi announced that Peace Governments and Universities of World Peace are now being established in every country to provide training in Vedic science – the complete knowledge of total Natural Law. "Vedic science opens human awareness to the Unified Field of Natural Law, total Natural Law. This is the transcendental field of all possibilities, where the underlying unity and infinite diversity of the universe are one. This field of invincibility cannot be comprehended by the mind or intellect; it must be experienced directly. These Peace Governments and Universities of World Peace will enliven this experience in the awareness of every single individual to create sovereignty in every nation."

Maharishi said that his global efforts during the past 40 to 50 years have created a fertile field for the knowledge of total Natural Law to transform life on earth. "Now is the time for the tree to yield beautiful ripe fruits. We have the knowledge and we can do it," Maharishi said. "So everyone has a choice: Either live in light or live in darkness. We are offering light. Come if you want to enjoy the light – or remain where you are if you want to enjoy the darkness. My advice is to choose the light."
