(23 July 2003) Citing the urgent need for practical new knowledge to create a new world of prosperity and peace, His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi declared his readiness to share the scientific knowledge of total Natural Law with any individual or government that wants to prevent problems and suffering and promote the health, happiness, and success of all the people.

For this, Maharishi announced that his Global Country of World Peace will soon begin offering new training courses in total Natural Law for all government leaders in every area of national administration – health, education, economics, defence, administration, etc.

"The knowledge is available – and the need for the knowledge is great," Maharishi said. "No one should waste any more time in problems. We invite every individual and every government to take full advantage of this knowledge so that life on earth can be problem-free – spontaneously supported by the evolutionary power of Natural Law."

Maharishi’s declaration came during his global news conference on 16 July, which was held at the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland, and broadcast live via satellite, Internet webcast, and teleconference call to media on all continents. Maharishi’s next news conferences will be on 23 and 24 July.

Maharishi said that Vedic science – the scientific knowledge of total Natural Law – will allow every government to fulfil its parental role of bringing satisfaction to everyone. "No government wants to see its people living in poverty, sickness, or difficulties. Fortunately, it’s now no longer necessary for anyone to continue to face problems. But even more than that, it’s now possible for every individual and every nation to enjoy waves of peace, prosperity, fulfilment, and freedom," Maharishi said.

Maharishi assessed the failure of conventional approaches to global problems and offered his Vedic science-based solutions to create a problem-free world:

Failed education: "Life is holistic – every aspect of life is governed by total Natural Law. Today’s education has failed because it is fragmented – it does not enliven this total creative potential in the student’s brain physiology. Only Vedic education delivers total knowledge of unity and diversity – the Unified Field and the diverse streams of knowledge. It trains the student to develop his total brain potential so that his consciousness is lively in all knowledge. Then he can spontaneously utilise the evolutionary power of total Natural Law in his thought, speech, and action to fulfil his desires. That is the fruit of education – and that is what we want to give to the people."

Non-existent defence: "Defence through arms is non-existent today," Maharishi said. "Everyone realises that the military cannot save the nation from an enemy who remains hidden at a distance – and yet can still shower missiles on a country. The only solution is Vedic defence, which destroys the enmity of the enemy – which ‘averts the danger which has not yet come.’ Wise governments should ban the idea of ‘military defence’ because it is a false hope. Instead, governments should raise national consciousness through Vedic defence so that Natural Law works for the nation and prevents the birth of an enemy."

Outdated medicine: "The time has passed for today’s outdated medical care, which is based on the physiology," Maharishi said. "Scientific research has found that consciousness is at the basis of the physiology. Only Vedic medicine approaches health from this fundamental field of consciousness. It utilises the reverberations of consciousness, which promote the structure and function of the physiology – and which are available in the Vedic literature. So don’t waste time with outdated procedures, which are themselves the cause of disease and suffering. Utilise the infinite creative intelligence of Natural Law."

Maharishi called on the press to bring to the world the good news that the dark age of ignorance is over. Maharishi also invited government leaders to participate in the new training courses. "The knowledge is fresh. It is authentic from every point of view – both modern and ancient. It is simple and practical and has been verified repeatedly during the past several decades," Maharishi said. "So let’s make hay while the sun shines and create a beautiful world of peace, prosperity, and happiness. Let’s ring the bell of ‘Eureka’ and bask in the rising sunshine."
