SUBJECT: Special message from the Trustees of Maharishi Foundation, UK, to all Meditators, Sidhas and Governors in the UK

It is a great pleasure to write to you all with some very important news. As many of you will be aware, in recent weeks Maharishi has placed great emphasis on the importance of building Peace Palaces in every country. The plan to build Maharishi Peace Palaces in 3,000 cities around the world is an essential part of Maharishi's programme to create permanent world peace, of which the central core is to put together a permanent group of 40,000 Vedic Pandits - experts in all aspects of Maharishi's Vedic Science - in India.

The Peace Palaces are beautiful purpose built facilities, designed using the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, the Vedic system of architecture to create homes and other buildings, villages, towns, and cities in harmony with Natural Law. The Peace Palaces will be ideal homes for Maharishi's programmes for the full development of life. Everyone who has built their home using the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, or who has lived or worked in a Maharishi Sthapatya Veda environment - otherwise known as "ideal Vastu" - has noted how their experiences during the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme are enlivened, and how every aspect of life is strengthened.

In the context of Maharishi's programme to create World Peace, especially in the light of world events during the past week, the Trustees of Maharishi's organisations in Great Britain have decided, after consultation with our international organisation, that this is the time to sell our two Academies, Roydon Hall and Badingham, in order to pave the way to move on to a more ideal environment for Maharishi's programmes. We are proceeding with plans for Peace Palaces at the same time as the sale of the Academies. As we know from the Maharishi European Sidhaland in Skelmersdale, experiences are much deeper when the group is situated in an ideal Vastu, and the effect of coherence correspondingly more powerful.

Although we shall all miss Roydon and Badingham, which both hold so many beautiful memories of wonderful experiences and inspiring gatherings over so many years, the Peace Palaces will open many new possibilities. They are designed specifically to be perfectly suited for Maharishi's programmes. In addition to beautiful halls for meetings and the group practice of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme, and comfortable living accommodation, the Peace Palaces are planned to be larger than our existing facilities, so that they can support a more comprehensive range of programmes and courses. On a practical level, we are currently working on plans to ensure that if there is a gap between selling the Academies and the construction of our permanent facilities, we will have dignified and peaceful alternative accommodation for our residential courses during the interim period.

We invite everyone to come forward if they would like to be involved in any way with the creation of Peace Palaces in Britain. There are many aspects of this project where your involvement will be of value - in identifying suitable locations, assisting in securing financial contributions and investments, and working on the development projects, for example. The Academy Directors will be sending out a more detailed presentation of requirements, and contacting those who would like to be involved. The creation of Peace Palaces will strengthen our contribution to peace and the enlivenment of the nourishing and evolutionary power of Natural Law in the world. On 8 March, during his inaugural address for the foundation of the Maharishi World Peace Trust in Germany, Maharishi said that establishment of Peace Palaces is not an institutional responsibility, but a personal endeavour for the sake of one's peace and prosperity, and that of one's family, community, country, and world. Maharishi emphasised that this is a project of the utmost urgency, and that from the inception of planning for a Peace Palace, a powerful influence of peace will be created in society.
