At the beginning of the 1970s, the research of Dr R. Keith Wallace and others started the quantification of the fourth major state of human consciousness – known as "restful alertness" or Transcendental Consciousness. This new breakthrough study is the first to begin to quantify the fifth state of consciousness – Enlightenment or Cosmic Consciousness – using a new Integration Scale. David Hughes brings us a special report from the Maharishi School in Skelmersdale. When Manchester mother-of-two Linda Lloyd was looking for the best secondary education for her eleven-year-old son Robert last summer, she didn't imagine that she would end up teaching at the same school herself.

"The staff are so sweet at the Maharishi School," said Linda. "Other schools are nice and supportive, of course, but there seems to be more of a common bond at the Maharishi School."
