Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to announce plan to promote permanent world peace

In his first press conference for 7 years, His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on Friday, 28 September 2001 will announce a plan to avert a global war and permanently eliminate the threat of terrorism. Is there a way to eliminate terrorism and promote permanent peace-without devastating loss of life? The answer is yes, according to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Transcendental Meditation programme. Full-page announcements have appeared this week in major newspapers in the USA and worldwide presenting Maharishi's proposal for averting war and creating immediate-and permanent-peace in the world. Maharishi is calling for the establishment of a group in India of 40,000 experts trained in ancient Vedic technologies of defence to neutralise the acute tensions and fears gripping the world today. Maharishi is also calling on successful visionary leaders to create an endowment fund to fund this urgently-needed group on a permanent basis.
