HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYERNow that you have downloaded Windows Media Player, you can install it. You will be presented with a number of options. We have selected the options most suitable for the sole purpose of viewing Maharishi streaming videos - you may of course, wish to choose different options. These can later be changed after installation so there is no problem with choosing our recommendations. The first thing you should notice after the download is a new icon on your desktop - if that is where you directed the download to. If you directed the download into a folder such as "My Documents", you will need to open that folder and find the file. Friendly Disclaimer: We also recommend you close other applications that you may be running at the time, eg. your word processor, internet connection, and also any web pages you have open, including this one! So it is a good idea that you read the rest of this page before you begin the installation, or print it out first. Remember that even if you have a window minimised onto the task bar, the application is still open, and thus should be closed. If you want to be really thorough about closing programmes which may
be running at the same time, you can also close other applications "running
in the background" - some of these you will see in the system tray
which is the little set of small icons usually located at the bottom
right hand corner of your screen. These can be closed or disabled by
right clicking the mouse on them and choosing the "disable",
"close" or "exit" options. Don't forget to re-enable
them afterwards - some you can do simply by right-clicking the mouse
on the relevant icons and choosing the "re-enable", "open"
or "start" options - others you may need to clickon Start
| Programs | and then select the applications you closed or disabled.
Some of these may be anti-virus software, so it is important that you
reactivate them afterwards - rebooting the computer should do the trick
if you cannot work out how to any other way.
